Title: Manager, Economic Development Strategies

Position Reports to:President

Job Purpose
This position provides leadership and support to priority long-term economic development strategies. The manager will be responsible for building relationships with a range of businesses, government entities and individuals, facilitating connections with a broad number of community partners, and providing project management guidance to advance key strategies. Key areas of focus are anticipated to include driving economic development in Lancaster County's boroughs and advancing needed land use evaluations to ensure appropriate growth options exist.

Duties & Responsibilities
Develop, execute and update as needed an annual plan of work related to EDC's efforts supporting economic development in Lancaster County's boroughs that includes measurable outputs and outcomes:
- Maintain consistent and regular contact with a broad range of stakeholders involved in Lancaster County's boroughs, including key partner organizations, local municipal officials (staff and elected), along with key property owners and businesses
- Identify and provide tools and/or education that has value to a range of Lancaster's boroughs
- Refer and coordinate key business retention/expansion and redevelopment/development opportunities to team members
- Identify and coordinate discussions and focused efforts to address key long-term economic development opportunities and threats in the boroughs in coordination with local representatives and key partners
- Network regularly and build relationships with a wide range of lead sources to strengthen EDC's connections to the boroughs and to broaden the community's understanding of EDC's intentions
- Attend, as appropriate, key municipal and county planning discussions to stay current on key economic development activity

Provide support to emerging land use issues, including implementing recommendations coming out of planning exercises and monitoring development trends and activities in the community

Provide timely information to other members of the team to: ensure the highest level of customer service is possible, help inform communication strategies, and advance leads into projects when possible

Coordinate regularly with the Center for Regional Analysis on the development of data and analysis

Maintain good working knowledge of all organizational initiatives to be able to share information during business visits and networking opportunities

Represent the organization in a wide variety of settings, including municipal meetings, networking activities, and task forces

Other Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with areas of study to include planning and/or economic development
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a related field
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to work independently
- Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and 365 Applications
- GIS and database experience preferred

Annual Performance Measurements
This position will be evaluated on the following key performance measurements:
- Ability to demonstrate a return on investment related to the Borough activity
- Linkages to various businesses and partners and internally
- Breadth of engagement of community partners, including economic development partners and members, in to the overall strategy
- Effectiveness of communication with other team members to ensure coordination and maximum customer service
- Effective utilization and advancement of organizational technologies, such as the CRM or other databases, as needed

None. This position may pursue student interns, as appropriate, to support key, specific activities.
