Grant Writer

Community Action Partnership (CAP) of Lancaster is seeking a dedicated Grant Writer, responsible for working with all CAP programs to develop and prepare grant applications for a variety of funding sources, research opportunities for outside funding and write any necessary reports for funding already received.

- Minimum of two years' experience with persuasive and research writing.

- Experience working in deadline-driven environments.

- Able to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

- Able to monitor and meet income goals.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, especially Word and Excel.

- Strong written communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals.

- Strong research skills, including a knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospect research.

- Previous experience with non-profit fundraising is a plus.

- Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to government, foundation and corporate sources.

- Perform prospect research on foundations and corporations to evaluate grants and make recommendations on which grants to apply for funding.

- Work with finance and program staff to gather information necessary to report to grant funders on current grant programs.

- Provide stewardship to current funders, including work with Chief Development Officer to provide regular written updates (newsletters, etc.) to funders.

- Make appointments for Chief Development Officer and CEO with foundation officers and other prospects, arrange for onsite tours for supporters (foundation officers, foundation trustees).

- Work with Communications Coordinator to provide development input for all written institutional materials (including Annual Report, Newsletters, etc.).

- Assist with donor communications as needed ("Thank You" Letters, events, etc.).

- Maintain current records in project management software and in paper files, including grant tracking and reporting.
