Medical Services Manager (Part-time, 15hrs)

Oversees Medical Services Team (in absence of Medical Services Director)

Primary Function

Under the general supervision of the Medical Services Director, ensures the quality and medical compliance of day-to-day client medical services including, but not limited to; limited ultrasound, pregnancy testing, OSHA compliance and other client medical testing as needed. This position oversees and maintains professional medical standards of care for A Woman's Concern.

Job Duties

  • Medical Services:
    Oversees client medical testing and collaborates with Medical Director and Ultrasound Physician as necessary. Ensures accurate implementation of physician's orders and advises physician(s) of patient's progress and changes in condition. Refers clients for medical need. Maintains medical supplies, accurate client medical records and pro-life medical referrals. Ensures the ministry upholds client privacy per applicable laws and regulations.

  • Client Medical and Counseling Support:
    Direct client contact including counseling, pregnancy testing, post counseling, medical and social referrals. Documents client information and counseling notes and completes Real Alternatives submissions immediately afterwards. Supports client advocates and receptionists by providing insights, direction and training as well as medical resources to clients.

  • Administrative:
    Assists the Medical Services Director in day to day operations and in his/her absence or as otherwise needed. Actively engages, supports and participates in events. Instrumental in establishing relationships with medical community to optimize referrals. Engagement with Advancement team to market our medical services. Performs other staff and volunteer duties, ensuring the needs of the ministry are met.

  • Professional Development:
    Maintains a working knowledge of medical principles and practices in all relevant areas including, but not limited to prevention and treatment of disease, safety and infection control, clinical systems, supplies and equipment. Enhances professional and personal knowledge and skills on an ongoing and continuing basis through formal training, CME's, seminars, programs, literature search, networking and benchmarking. Maintains professional license.

Physical Demands

Activities in performance of duties include sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 10lbs, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, keystroking on a keyboard or similar device, talking, hearing and seeing.
