Director of Development - Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra

The Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra seeks an experienced professional with a proven track record to serve as Director of Development. Responsibilities include the planning, management, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive fundraising
program consistent with the Symphony's needs and goals. The Director of Development will work with the Executive Director, other members of staff, members of the Board of Directors, the Development Committee and other volunteers in planning and executing all fund raising efforts, including annual fund, corporate and foundation giving, major gifts, planned giving, and fundraising events and benefits.
The Director of Development will be responsible for overseeing the research and grant making application process for both private and public funding sources in a timely manner, as well as reporting requirements subsequent to receipt of grant funds. S/he
will recommend fundraising policies and procedures with the goal of building an annual and multi-year development program of the highest professional and ethical standards. The Director of Development is responsible for supervising the activities of
any development staff and/or contractors as applicable.
The successful candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, good writing skills, and the ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, deadline driven performing arts
environment. Concert weekend work required.
