Bookkeeper/Membership Secretary

Job Description
Provide a wide range of critical bookkeeping, office/clerical, membership and project support services for the nonprofit Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. Maintain a general ledger of accounts. Make bank deposits. Process invoices from vendors. Reconcile and balance all ledger, credit card and bank accounts. Prepare financial and status reports. Prepare materials for the annual audit. Record employee time and leave and prepare payroll. Maintain membership database.

-Minimum of two years of relevant post-secondary education (college, business and/or technical school) and/or equivalent work experience.
-Working knowledge of accepted bookkeeping and office practices and procedures.
-PC proficiency in QuickBooks, MS Word, Excel, Access and internet.
-Good verbal and written communication and proofreading skills.
-Organized, accurate, flexible, efficient and reliable.
-Manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
-Able to take direction (verbal and written) work independently and function as a team member.
-Professional demeanor with co-workers, volunteers, members, donors, partners and the public.
